Spring has certainly sprung this week with temperature rising to 25 degrees. I was really happy to have the chance to make some new photographs in amongst the Magnolia trees at Sankt-Peter Kirche, the blossoms are magnificent at this time of year so, go to see them in the next few days as the flowers are already fading and will soon be gone.
Read on for my summary for things to do this weekend including, cycle routes, walking routes, rope walking through the trees and having a go on a solar bob plus beer sales, new offers in town and more….
The Chrisiroute 111 is a 30 km bike tour through the cherry trees of Basel land starting in Leistal and ending in Laufen. Complete this route in the next few weeks and you will be able to witness the most beautiful display of pink and white cherry blossom that will yield the most delicious local cherries in June sometime…yummy. The bike route can be found here. Watch the video blow to see just how beautiful the Cherry route is.
Since spring 2020, a new walking route opened in the Upper Basel area: the “Baselbieter Chirsiweg” with number 471. It starts at the Sommerau train station, leads to Oltingen and is a good ten kilometers long. For a map of the route and more in-depth details click here
Lagenbruck is around 35 mins from Basel and hosts the Deinkick a leisure zone for skiing, solar bob sledding *Rodelbahn or Solarbob’ and has Seilpark, a wonderful series of rope walks that will take you on a journey through the trees canopy. Our regions flower fields have re-opened and offer a wide selection of spring bulbs, I am going to write an article about our local flower fields later in the month and some of my research has led me to develop this google map that shows the location of some of the better flower fields in our region click here to view the map.
Jenny’s wellness oasis opens in Basel offering a get away from home, she offers a relaxing retreat from home office with all natural, vegan cosmetics, hand made by herself. I can attest that her facials are superb and I am currently loving her rich body butter that is lightly whipped and very fragrant.
Matt and Elly have a ramp sale on Easter saturday 12:00-19:00 outside their restaurant in Erlenmattstrasse, they are selling their award winning beer with the options to take away some amazing burgers, not to be missed.
