Welcome to this weeks edition of Things to do in Basel.
I hope you have had a great Summer so far, wow it’s been hot weather recently! I have been busy redesigning the blog website, I hope you like the new format?
Here’s some great things to in the week ahead, Louise
Wednesday 12th, 18:00-1:00 @ Deck 57, Westquaistrasse 19.
What better way to spend a warm summers evening than to relax in Deck 57 and enjoy a beautiful, live, classical, Cello concert and have chance to while away the hours on the deck up until 1 am. This time of year is prime for seeing shooting stars in the night sky, stay on the deck after the concert and you maybe be able to ‘wish upon a star’.
Deck 57 is a trendy, beach style deck that is situated on an old boat at Westquai a point on the map where Switzerland, France and German meet.
Tickets are 19/24 CHF and available here They are 28 CHF on the evening itself.
The amazing works of Hopper are still showing at the Fondation Beyler read more here
There’s a new exhibition at the Kunstmuseum ‘The Incredible World of Photography’ There is a special free entry evening on Wednesdays.
Check out your favourite museum for children workshops on Sundays, here’s the list of Summer workshops for kids at the Vitra Design Museum.
Don’t forget the Museums Pass gets you free entry to over 300 museums
Friday 16th and 23rd August, 18:00.
Enjoy live music at Klara this Friday and next, the concerts are free. This Friday features Georgia Ciavatta and Italian singer whose music is inspired by Jazz and Swing.
Klara is a market hall that is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee, a place to WFH or meet friends for an Apero with friends. Enjoy their nine kitchens and one bar.
Here’s my very own recipe for a cool and juicy home made ice pop, ENJOY!
Enjoy the last few weeks of August!
