Mathishof has the most amazing, maize labyrinth on their farm in Bottmingen. The labyrinth or maze opened this week and is great fun for young and old. Enter the labyrinth and wind your way through the maize to find 4 or 5 kids play areas that include slides, swings, trampolines and other fun things to play on. Take the zip line through the maze to cut a corner or wander around until you find the exit. The labyrinth is not so complex that you can get lost but you do need a good 30 mins to 1 hour to enjoy it fully. Be warned, I imagine many children could spend a lot longer than that though!
The entrance fee for the labyrinth or maze is 5 CHF for an adult and each child is 3 CHF each, there is trust box where your entrance fee can be paid. There’s lots of space to leave bikes, prams and scooters at the entrance to the labyrinth, there is also a large chess board situated just outside the entrance too. You can take your dog into the labyrinth but it must be kept on a lead and you must pay a 3 CHF admission fee for your dog as well.
The labyrinth is open 8:00-20:00 everyday until October when the maize is cut down.
The farm can be visited by public transport Bus 37 or 47 to Fiechthag. I highly recommend this as an inexpensive day out for all.
The farm yard is also open so that small kids can see how the farm works but in a safe environment and even cuddle a cow or two. To read more about Mathishof click here
