The Tinguely Fountain a wonderful sight whatever the weather


Designed and built by Jean Tinguely back in the 1977, the Tingluey fountain still draws a crowd and is one of Basel’s best known landmarks. Come rain or shine the fountain weaves it’s magic however, it does freeze over on very cold days in the winter making the most amazing icicles.

The fountain represents 9 actors, dancers or players who are in constant artistic discussion with each other, If you love this fountain then, there’s more from this amazing artist at the Tinguely museum which is based in Basel too.
